EMDT and its Market
The EMDT brand has been structured to serve as a single source of medical device design and manufacturing information for engineers and other personnel in Europe’s medical device and diagnostics industry, explains Colin Martin, Group Publisher, International Medical Publications. “This new publication and website reaffirm Canon's longstanding commitment to the medical device industry in Europe,” says Martin. “With media becoming ever-more diverse, now is the right time for Canon to establish a single, clearly defined brand to provide our audience with all the relevant technical and product information and industry news they need to perform their jobs better."
The editorial content of EMDT will provide readers with comprehensive technical information on all aspects of the design and manufacture of finished medical devices. The magazine will also report extensively on new products and services that allow engineers to develop and produce leading-edge medical products. Industry news and other time-sensitive information will be distributed to readers via the medtechinsider blog and electronic newsletters.
“In developing the EMDT portfolio, one of our goals is to use the various media at our disposal to bring to our audience the information it needs in the most timely and effective manner,” says Group Editor, International Medical Publications, Norbert Sparrow. “Breaking news and time-sensitive information will show up immediately on medtechinsider.com, medtechinsider.de and emdt.co.uk. EMDT will provide context, in-depth technical articles and a variety of other resources that are better served by a print format,” says Sparrow.

Starting in January, the entire European OEM industry becomes available every month via print and digital distribution,” says Martin. “This single dominant brand will deliver advertising messages to the widest and most comprehensive audience across the entire European community.”
